PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Academic Level 1 Trauma Center with a county patient population

A mix of over 92,000 patients in adult medicine, pediatric, and trauma annually

San Antonio is a city with poor health literacy, and we are the only county hospital, providing care for an incredibly underserved population with significant comorbid illnesses.

We have a strong relationship with the military emergency medicine residency program at Brooke Army Medical Center.

Of the past several graduating classes, almost half have gone onto a fellowship program.

A growing network of alumni throughout the country with a strong reputation, leading to multiple employment offers for PGY-3 residents, even in competitive markets.

Multiple faculty have been invited speakers to national and international conferences including ACEP, SAEM, AAEM, and abroad, including all of residency leadership.
